Project overview
IDA were procured by Mansfield based property developer ARBA Group to provide Architectural Design services for the production of a detailed design for the regeneration of the former transport station at Stockwell Gateway, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.
The Developmnent site is key to Mansfield District Councils regeneration programme with the main project driver being to design and deliver a significant development providing a gateway to Mansfield's central district. The proposed development comprises of a six storey 100-bedroom hotel with integral restaurant offer and three further restaurant/takeaway units along with public open space, art and plaza. Contemporary by design the hotel and restaurants take architectural and material cues from the immediate surrounding area and the historic marketplace and stone railway viaducts beyond.
Designed to provide a sense of place/destination the leisure complex offer also provides much needed pedestrian link to the surrounding public open space, Four Seasons shopping centre, historic Market place and the town centre alike. Phase 1 of the development (restaurants and takeaway units) was completed in April 2022 and has enjoyed great success with Phase 2 (Hotel/public open space) to be moved forward in the future.
